What Shall We Do
Now?
Current
events have left many people fearful of heart and pondering what
the future holds. God made it plain in His Word that we will
hear of wars and rumors of wars and that all these things will
come to pass but that surely does not mean the end has come
(Matthew 24:6-7). As usual, Jesus never speaks gloom without
providing a way of escape or words of comfort. He encourages
us in verse 13 to endure to the end and also letting us know the
sign of the end - which shall be when the gospel is
preached all over the world.
Let me also point
you to a scripture that I believe is so relevant for today and
every day that we wake up on this earth. Psalm 91:1 tells us
what we should do now during this time of war and what we should
do always.
He that
dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is
my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
This is what the
Holy Spirit revealed to me:
- The
secret place is God's "safe house" or "shelter"
for His beloved and those that would trust Him.
- It
is not a man-made shelter where you come to in time of need
but a God-provided shelter which becomes your place
of dwelling (your house).
- It
is not a physical place but a "virtual place"
where you can be in constant communication with God.
- You
don't have to leave it in the morning, when you go to work or
school or church, and then return to it. You stay in
there constantly - like being in a bubble - a virtual,
spiritual bubble. How?
- God
enfolds you and becomes your refuge - your shelter or retreat
from the outside wall, He becomes your fortress - a
fortified place and a stronghold wall of protection around
you. He protects you from the traps, attacks, and
onslaught of the enemy and keeps you safe.
So let me encourage
you in this -- do not let your heart be troubled. Rest safe
and secure in God, in knowledge that you are rooted and grounded
in the palm of His hand and no evil or calamity shall come upon
you.
